Portfolio boarding and court documents
A national debt buyer and legal-collections servicer.
The problem
Each month the client buys new lots of consumer loans. Each lot arrived as a seller file, a closing statement and thousands of loose documents. A person loaded each lot through the platform's import screens and checked it by eye. Ten copies of the build script had drifted apart. Law firms also need a court exhibit for each account, and staff built those by hand.
What we built
- A scrub gate that checks every account before load: statute of limitations, invalid Social Security numbers, business names on consumer accounts, and accounts already in the system.
- A loader that boards a lot without the import screens, then verifies it: counts, five money totals to the cent, and no duplicates.
- A document pipeline that sorts seller documents by type. It uses the seller's index and file-name rules first, and calls AI only for what is left.
- A generator that builds the court exhibit PDF for each account in a lot.
- An end-to-end run that takes each lot from pickup through scrub, funding check, load and verification, and stops only when a person is needed.
Results
- 7,146 accounts in 13 lots boarded, June to October 2026. The scrub gate has checked every lot since September.
- The gate held 3.7% of one month's accounts before load. Principal still tied to the closing statement to the penny.
- Proof run: the loader and the hand import loaded the same 1,667 accounts. Every field matched, apart from system IDs and timestamps.
- 64,067 documents for 1,645 accounts sorted in one 2-hour run for $167 of AI cost. 81% needed no AI call, and 0.12% stayed unsorted.
- 15,136 court exhibits built across 19 lots since July 2026.
Timeline
Exhibits live July 2026. Scrub gate and loader live September to October 2026.
