Moving a lender's servicing during a bankruptcy
A lender in bankruptcy whose portfolio was moving to an acquiring servicer.
The problem
The lender was in bankruptcy and its servicing had to move to the servicer taking it over. Accounts, balances, payment history and reporting all had to land intact on the new side, while borrowers kept paying and the new servicer kept working the accounts.
What we did
- Ran the full IT move to the new servicer: accounts, balances, reporting, the servicing platform and all the data.
- Supported the new servicer through the whole transition to their side.
Why one team mattered
We handled the data from the old side to the new side ourselves. The new servicer had one team to call for every account, balance and report question until the move was done.
When this fits
A lender is winding down, a portfolio is being sold, or servicing has to move on a deadline. We plan the data side, run the move and stay with the new team until it settles.
